Alsace is world well-known for its distinctive meals and wines and at the moment we had been lucky to be invited by our beautiful neighbours ( visiting from Mulhouse) to style some handmade choucroute with a wide range of scrumptious cuts of meats and sausages.
We began with a cocktail punch of glowing wine with a cognac twist and a salted bread referred to as a Kougelhopf:
The mains adopted with every dish being amply served with choucroute, and 7 items of pork together with okayassler, collet fumé, palette fumée sans os, montbéliarde, viennoise, lard fumé and lard frais. The potato added additional consolation on this august wintry day!
What a delight it was to be served such scrumptious Alsatian delights in our personal Breton village!
